The PaperologyRAG is a reading and activity group originally created by Juliette De Maeyer – Associate Professor, Aleksandra Kaminska – Assistant Professor, Alysse Kushinski – Postdoctoral Researcher, and Ghislain Thibault – Associate Professor at Artefact Lab and -Atelier 30- in the Department of Communication @ Université de Montréal. The PaperologyRAG initially began for the academic year of 2020 (September – April) to engage with the emerging research and growing literature on paper as material.
With the original creators ideas and support as our beacon and guiding light, Paperologists Christina Corfield (Independent Artist and Lecturer, Film and Digital Media Dept. UC Santa Cruz), Jenifer Monger, (Archivist, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), and Rebecca Rouse (Senior Lecturer in Media Arts, Aesthetics, and Narration in the School of Informatics, University of Skövde) are extending the PaperologyRAG for another academic year to deepen the understanding of and further participants engagement with the material histories, forms, practices, and possibilities of paper.
